Jakarta Golf Trip FAQ: Entry, Caddies, Weather and Booking
This Jakarta golf trip FAQ answers the questions visiting golfers ask most, from visas and the arrival card to caddies, dress codes, the rainy season and how far ahead to book. The answers cover Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung, the three areas where Zora Golf Travel runs guided trips.
Zora was founded in Jakarta in 2024 by golfers with 250+ combined rounds, and every course on its itineraries has been played by the founding team. Each answer below starts with a short reply, followed by the detail you need to plan, and facts are cited to their sources at the foot of the page.

Entry and Arrival
Entry rules depend on your passport, but every visitor lands at the same airport and completes the same arrival card. These are the three questions to settle before you book flights.
Do I need a visa for a golf trip to Jakarta?
Singapore and Malaysia passport holders enter Indonesia visa-free under the ASEAN exemption for up to 30 days, which cannot be extended. Australians need a Visa on Arrival or an e-VOA, valid for 30 days and extendable once by 30 days. Other nationalities should check the current rules with Indonesian immigration before travelling.
The ASEAN exemption is confirmed by Indonesian embassy guidance [1], and the Australian visa rules come from secondary sources [2]. The e-VOA is applied for online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

What is the All Indonesia arrival card?
The All Indonesia arrival card is a free digital declaration that combines immigration, customs, health and quarantine in one form. It has been mandatory at Soekarno–Hatta Airport since 1 September 2025. Submit it up to 3 days before arrival or on landing, online or in the All Indonesia app, with one card per traveller.
The form is at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id [3]. Children need their own submission too [4].
Which airport do I fly into, and how long is the transfer?
International visitors fly into Soekarno–Hatta Airport (CGK), about 20 to 27 km from central Jakarta. The drive takes about 45 to 60 minutes or more depending on traffic. Halim Perdanakusuma airport has international status but no scheduled international passenger flights, so it is not an arrival option for overseas golfers.
The road transfer uses the 14.3 km Sedyatmo airport toll road [5]. The airport train reaches BNI City (Sudirman) in 39 minutes and Manggarai in 46 minutes [6]. Halim's status is set by Ministry of Transport decree KM 37/2025 [21].

On the Course
Jakarta golf runs on a few customs that surprise first-time visitors, starting with the caddie. These answers cover caddies, tipping, dress and club hire.
Are caddies mandatory at Jakarta golf courses?
Yes, at most courses. A caddie is mandatory at most Jakarta clubs and is provided by the club, even when Zora books the round, with the caddie fee paid directly to the caddie, separately from the green fee. Your guide knows the caddie system at each club and can explain how it works before your first round on the trip.
Caddies are required at most Jakarta courses [7]. The guide to Jakarta golf caddies explains how the system works.
How much should I tip my caddie?
Tipping the caddie after the round is customary in Jakarta, on top of the caddie fee, but the right amount varies by club. Ask the Caddie Master at the course, as clubs often have a recommended amount. Your Zora guide can also confirm the custom at each club before you tee off, so you are never left guessing at the end of the round.
The tip is paid to the caddie directly after the round [8]. Amounts are set by club custom, so no figure is given here.
What should I wear to play golf in Jakarta?
Wear a collared shirt, golf shoes and tailored shorts or trousers. Denim and sleeveless tops may be refused, especially at higher-end clubs. Some clubs set stricter rules, such as soft spikes only, so check each course before you pack, or ask your guide to confirm the dress code for every club on your itinerary.
The general standard comes from visitor guidance for Jakarta golf [9]. Royale Jakarta asks for proper golf attire and soft spikes [10], and Imperial Klub Golf does not allow collarless shirts or metal spikes [11].
Can I rent golf clubs in Jakarta?
Yes, at some clubs. Pondok Indah lists club and shoe rental, and Imperial Klub Golf has clubs available to rent on site. Rental is not offered everywhere, so golfers who prefer not to fly with clubs should ask in advance, and your guide can arrange rental at the courses on your itinerary.
Pondok Indah's rental is listed on Golf Advisor [12], and Imperial's on its operator's site [11]. The golf club rental guide for Jakarta covers the options in more detail.

Golf in Jakarta is played all year, but the seasons shape tee times and the best months to travel. The cooler hills of Bogor and Bandung offer a change from the city heat.
When is the best time of year for a Jakarta golf trip?
About June to September is the most reliable time, because it falls in the dry season. The rainy season runs roughly from October to April, peaking around January and February. Golf is played year-round, and rounds start early in the morning to avoid the heat and the afternoon showers common in the transition months.
The rainy season dates come from Indonesia Expat [7], the January–February peak from Bisnis.com and Kompas TV [20], and the dry-season peak of July and August 2024 from BMKG [13]. A round takes about 4 to 5 hours [7], and thunderstorms can still occur in the dry season [14].
Seasons at a Glance
- About June to September — the driest, most reliable months
- October to April — rainy season, with early tee times recommended
- Transition months — hot mornings and brief heavy afternoon showers [15]
Is it cooler to play golf in Bandung or Bogor?
Bandung is the cooler choice. It sits at about 768 metres and averages about 23.5 °C all year, compared with a mean high of about 32.5 °C in Jakarta. Bogor is milder than Jakarta but is known as the City of Rain, with high rainfall throughout the year, so early tee times matter there too.
Bandung's elevation and average come from Telkom University [18], Jakarta's mean high from climate records [19], and Bogor's rainfall from the same records [19]. The Whoosh high-speed train reaches Bandung from Halim in about 45 minutes [16]. Read more about golf in Bandung and its highland courses.

Booking and Prices
Most visitor courses in Jakarta take golfers without a member, but weekend tee times fill quickly. These answers cover access, prices and lead times.
How much are green fees in Jakarta?
Green fees are price on application (POA). Rates vary by course, by weekday or weekend and by time of day, and many include a shared cart, while the caddie fee is always charged separately. Zora Golf Travel quotes the trip itself, covering tee times, the hotel, transport and your personal guide, and quotes green fees separately, based on the courses you choose and where they are.
The guide to the cost of golf in Jakarta explains what affects the price. Send your dates for a tailored quote.
Do I need to be a club member to play?
No, not at most visitor courses. Royale Jakarta, Pondok Indah, Suvarna, Sedayu Indo Golf and Damai Indah all publish a rate for guests without a member, and Senayan and Imperial are open to the public. Zora holds authorised tee-time access at Royale Jakarta, Damai Indah (PIK and BSD) and Jagorawi.
Visitor rates are published on each club's official rate card [10][22], and Senayan and Imperial are public facilities [11][23]. Each club sets its own rules, such as a maximum of four players per flight at Royale and Suvarna [10][22]. Your guide confirms the rules for every booking.
How far ahead should I book tee times?
Book weekend tee times several days ahead, as weekend demand at Jakarta's visitor courses is higher. Some resort courses take bookings only within a set window, such as Parahyangan Golf in Bandung, which accepts reservations up to 14 days ahead. Your guide can confirm the booking window for every course on your trip.
The weekend advice comes from visitor guidance for Jakarta golf [9], and the Parahyangan window from the club's booking page [17]. Booking your whole trip early lets your guide secure every tee time together.
