Jakarta Golf Holiday From Malaysia: Flights, Entry and Courses
A Jakarta golf holiday from Malaysia is a short hop: direct flights from Kuala Lumpur take about 2 to 2½ hours, and Malaysian passport holders enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days. That leaves most of a long weekend, or a full week, free for golf in Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung.
Zora Golf Travel was founded in Jakarta in 2024 by golfers with 250+ combined rounds, and a personal guide stays with you from airport arrival to departure. This guide covers flights from Kuala Lumpur and Penang, entry rules, the airport transfer, trip lengths, courses that suit a short stay and the best months to travel.

Direct Flights From Malaysia to Jakarta
Kuala Lumpur has the most direct options, led by Malaysia Airlines [1], with Batik Air Malaysia and AirAsia also on the route [2]. Penang has direct flights too, though the schedules come from aggregator data only [2].
Malaysia to Jakarta Flight Options
| Route | Airlines (Direct) | Approx. Flight Time | Arrival Airport |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur (KUL) – Jakarta | Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air Malaysia, AirAsia | About 2 h – 2 h 30 | Soekarno–Hatta (CGK) |
| Penang (PEN) – Jakarta | AirAsia, Batik Air, TransNusa | About 2 h 20 – 2 h 30 | Soekarno–Hatta (CGK) |
Flight times are approximate and change with schedules and seasons. Check the current timetable with each airline before you book.
All International Flights Use Soekarno–Hatta
International visitors arrive at Soekarno–Hatta (CGK). Halim Perdanakusuma holds international status but has no scheduled international passenger flights, after Batik Air and Citilink moved their services to CGK in 2025 [3].

Entry Rules for Malaysian Passport Holders
Malaysian citizens can visit Indonesia without a visa under the ASEAN visa exemption. The stay is up to 30 days and cannot be extended [4].
The All Indonesia Arrival Card
The All Indonesia arrival card has been mandatory at Soekarno–Hatta since 1 September 2025 [5]. It is a single free digital declaration covering immigration, customs, health and quarantine. Submit it up to 3 days before arrival or on landing, at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id or in the All Indonesia app [5].
Entry Checklist

Arriving at Soekarno–Hatta and Transferring to Your Hotel
Central Jakarta is about 20 to 27 km from Soekarno–Hatta [7]. The drive takes about 45 to 60 minutes or more depending on traffic, mostly on the 14.3 km Sedyatmo airport toll road [7].
Met at Arrivals by Your Guide
Your Zora guide meets you once you clear customs and stays with you every day of the trip. The guide handles the transfer, the tee times and the daily drives between hotel and course, so the only thing to carry is your golf bag.
The Airport Train Alternative
Since 1 July 2025, the airport train runs from BNI City (Sudirman) to the airport in 39 minutes and from Manggarai in 46 minutes [8]. Trains run about 70 times a day between 05:00 and 22:57 [8].

Golfers, not agents
Founded in Jakarta in 2024 by golfers with 250+ rounds between them across Indonesia, Australia, Thailand and the Philippines.

The Jakarta to Bandung golf tour uses the Whoosh high-speed train, which runs from Halim to Bandung in about 45 minutes [9]. Bandung sits at about 768 m and averages about 23.5 °C all year, a cooler change from the lowlands [10].
Comparing All Options
The Jakarta and Indonesia golf packages page sets out every trip side by side. Prices are on application (POA) and quoted per trip.

Courses That Suit a Short Golf Holiday
On a three- or four-day trip, travel time between courses matters as much as the layout. Jakarta's visitor courses group into airport-side options in the north-west and the Halim championship courses in the east.
Airport-Side Courses for Travel Days
Damai Indah Golf's PIK course is about 30 minutes from Soekarno–Hatta [11], and Imperial Klub Golf is about 35 minutes away [11]. The Manor Golf & Estate (formerly Cengkareng Golf Club) is about 3.5 km from the terminal [12], and Sedayu Indo Golf at Pantai Indah Kapuk is also near the airport. These suit a round on the day you land or the morning you fly home.
Halim Courses for a Full Golf Day
Royale Jakarta Golf Club, about 15 minutes from central Jakarta, hosted the Indonesian Masters on the Asian Tour from 2011 to 2024 [13]. Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club sits beside it with 27 links-style holes. Both are best played from a city hotel on a middle day of the trip.
Short-Trip Course Guide
| Course | Area | From the Airport | Best Day to Play | Green Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Manor Golf & Estate | Next to CGK | About 3.5 km, 10–15 min [12] | Arrival or departure day | POA |
| Damai Indah Golf PIK | North Jakarta | About 30 min [11] | Arrival or departure day | POA |
| Imperial Klub Golf | Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang | About 35 min [11] | Arrival or departure day | POA |
| Royale Jakarta Golf Club | Halim, East Jakarta | Across the city | Middle day from a city hotel | POA |
Authorised Tee-Time Access
Zora holds authorised tee-time booking access at Royale Jakarta, Damai Indah (PIK and BSD) and Jagorawi Golf & Country Club. Other courses are booked through their standard visitor channels.

From arrival to departure
A personal Zora guide meets you at the airport and stays with you every day of the trip.
Plan My TripWeather and the Best Months to Travel
Jakarta has golf all year, with a rainy season running roughly from October to April [14]. The dry season begins around June, and in 2024 it peaked in July and August [15].
Playing Around the Heat
Jakarta golfers tee off early in the morning because of the heat [16], and a round takes about 4 to 5 hours [14]. In transition months, hot mornings are often followed by brief heavy afternoon showers [17]. An early start keeps most rounds dry even in the wetter months.
